I’m a voice writer. I give my characters separate narrators with distinct dialects, philosophies, and dispositions. Some sarcastic. Some sweet. Some utterly deranged. But all with enough light and shadow to feel recognizably human.
Sometimes these narrators carry their own stories. Sometimes they coexist within the same one. Always, they are trying to prove they are the true protagonist.
There is no omniscient narrator. The reader has to decide who to trust, and when.
That tension is the work. It turns the story into a test of perception — a catalyst for critical thinking, and, at its best, an accelerator of empathy.
— Bradford Gyori
Work that extends beyond the printed page, including interactive narrative and audio storytelling.
